Finance Minister inaugurates GRA board

Finance Minister Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson has inaugurated a nine-member board for the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) to enhance domestic revenue mobilization and uphold integrity in public finance management. The board, chaired by George Kweku Ricketts-Hagan, a former Deputy Finance Minister, includes:

Dr. Forson emphasized the GRA’s vital role in Ghana’s economic development, citing the need for efficient revenue mobilization to support public expenditure. He tasked the board to:

    • Combat Smuggling: Take decisive action against smuggling activities undermining revenue efforts
    • Broaden Tax Net: Implement innovative strategies to improve compliance without overburdening taxpayers
    • Efficiency and Transparency: Enhance revenue administration through technology adoption and transparency

The new board is expected to provide strategic leadership and guide policy implementation to reform and modernize Ghana’s revenue collection systems.
