“Ghana and Namibia Renew Commitment to Stronger Bilateral Ties”

Last week, when I was in Windhoek, Namibia, to attend the state funeral of H.E. Dr. Sam Nujoma, I had a meeting with Namibia’s Vice President and President-elect, H.E. Dr. Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah.

We discussed the long-standing friendship between Ghana and Namibia, economic cooperation, and the need to leverage the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA). We also emphasized the role of women in leadership and the need for greater collaboration across Africa.

I conveyed President John Dramani Mahama’s condolences to the people of Namibia and reaffirmed Ghana’s commitment to strengthening our bilateral ties.

As we celebrate International Women’s Day, let us remind ourselves of the potential women have. The leadership of H.E. Dr. Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, Namibia’s first female President-elect, is a testament to the progress women continue to make in breaking barriers and redefining leadership across Africa.
