HE. John Mahama Cracks Down on NSS Ghost Names Scandal

In a decisive move, President John Mahama has directed that individuals linked to the National Service Authority ghost names scandal be declared wanted. During his State of the Nation address, Mahama announced that the accounts and assets of these individuals will be frozen pending the completion of investigations.

The president’s directive comes on the heels of a shocking discovery: a headcount of National Service Scheme beneficiaries revealed a staggering 81,885 ghost names on the payroll. This prompted Mahama to order the National Investigations Bureau to probe the National Service Authority’s tenure under the previous government.

Mahama emphasized that some of the individuals implicated in the scandal are believed to have fled the country, prompting the wanted declaration. The president, however, did not disclose the names of the suspects.

The National Service Authority ghost names scandal has sparked widespread outrage, with many calling for swift action against those responsible. Mahama’s decisive move is seen as a significant step towards accountability and transparency in governance.
